CARBON BUDDY PROJECT: TERMS AND CONDITIONS

How are the books packaged and delivered?

  • We can pack up to 3 books in one recyclable cardboard book wrapper. 

    1. We send all orders for 1-3 books by post (second class Royal Mail).

    2. The current postage and packing rate is shown on the website when purchasing.

    3. Orders for 2 parcels (4-6 books) will require double the postage/packing, and for three parcels (7-9 books) three times the postage/packing. 

    4. We can also supply books packed in recyclable cardboard boxes of 10.

    5. There is a special discounted price for a box of ten books.  We send boxes of ten by courier (DPD). 

    6. The packing and delivery cost of a box of ten books is shown on the website.

    7. We dispatch Monday to Friday.

    8. If you order on a Friday afternoon, during the weekend or over a Bank Holiday, we’ll process your purchase the next working day. 

    9. Please note that the cardboard book wrapper may not go through your letterbox. Clearly neither will the box of ten! When you order, there is a space for you to provide instructions for delivery. 

    10. Please note however, that we cannot be held responsible for non-delivery of your parcel at your address. You will need to make appropriate arrangements for the parcels to be left in a safe place if you will not be there to accept the parcel. DPD will send you an email about delivery and has a good online system for providing instructions.

    11. Contact us by email (marketing@carbonbuddyproject.org) if you have not received your order within 10 days and you are sure it is not waiting for you in some other location such as your local post office.

What happens if the manual is out of stock?

We hope it won’t happen, but occasionally we might find ourselves out of stock. In this case the website will make this clear and will enable you to go on the “wait list” for your copy. We will also tell you roughly when we are anticipating having new stock. You will not need to pay at this stage to reserve a copy. The wait list system will ask you to provide your email and will then advise you when new stock has arrived. You will then be able to order and pay for your copies in the normal way. 

Returns & refunds

The Carbon Buddy project adheres to the Consumer Contracts Regulations, which are designed to protect you when buying items by mail order.

Our Returns Policy is provided electronically with each order; if a paper copy is also required then please email your request to us at which email? This is taken from what CAT do. Is it needed? If so will this approach work?

How do I return a book and get a refund?

The Carbon Buddy project adheres to the Consumer Contracts Regulations and the Distance Selling Act, which are designed to protect you when buying items by mail order.

But please note that:

  • goods must be returned within 30 days

  • that we can only provide a refund if the item is undamaged, unused and is in its original packaging, 

  • and that returns are at the buyer’s expense. 

Should you decide you want to return a book and get a refund, please follow the following steps:

  1. Consider giving (or selling) the book to someone else who may want it more than you. That saves you (and us) lots of hassle!

  2. Alternatively, notify us by email (marketing@carbonbuddyproject.org) that you wish to return a book.

  3. We will reply by email and issue you with a returns reference number. PLEASE NOTE: it is essential that this returns reference number is quoted on the address label when you send the book back to us. Without it we cannot issue a refund.

  4. Send the item to the following address:

  1. We will let you know by email when we have received the item.

  2. We will then provide a refund within 14 days and will advise you accordingly.
