What’s the problem?

THE big climate emergency problem is the crisis of inaction.

We have only a short time to mobilise millions.

Mainstream information and warnings aren’t working fast enough … they may even be backfiring.

So we need to find a very different way to help us change our behaviours and lifestyles.

Here’s that very different approach

 The Carbon Buddy Manual

The Carbon Buddy Manual (second edition) by Colin Hastings

Quite simply a standout approach in the overcrowded field of climate change books

  • THE go-to practical climate change book

  • THE family friendly climate action pack

  • THE practical climate emergency toolkit

Designed for use by individuals, families, households, climate action groups, educators, students and climate coaches.

How does the manual work?

Unlike most books on climate change this is a practical “how to” self-help book. It was inspired by Haynes car repair manuals and great cookery and gardening books. The manual is all about processes. Whilst it does cover what to do, it helps you more by looking at how to go about what for all of us is a very complex project. It provides:

  • a process for clarifying your goals

  • a process for measuring your personal pollution

  • a process for highlighting priorities and deciding where to start

  • a process for breaking down a complex task into bite size chunks

  • a process for spreading these tasks over time to make them manageable

  • a process for identifying and overcoming obstacles

  • a process for getting others involved

  • and processes for finding additional information, sources of support, and the resolve to keep going.

The outcome is a realistic and motivating plan specifically tailored to your situation, your constraints, and your opportunities.
